Hello! My name is Kurt Gerwitz.

The Fun Finance Guy! At University, I bring a passion for education and a wealth of experience to the classroom. With an extensive background in finance, I’ve navigated the intricacies of institutional investments and foreign exchange.

But my journey extends beyond numbers and spreadsheets — I’m equally committed to fostering a positive small business culture through our work together here.

A little bit of my story

In my twenties, I embarked on a quest fueled by radical love and insatiable curiosity. Little did I know that this passion would lead me down a winding path, ultimately converging with the dynamic realm of finance.

My educational journey began with a dual B.A. in Spanish and History from Loyola University New Orleans. Armed with financial acumen from the AB Freeman School of Business at Tulane University, I stepped into the bustling corridors of Hancock Whitney Bank. For seven years, I navigated the intricate landscape of foreign exchange and institutional investments.

But numbers alone couldn’t satisfy my hunger for making finance fun — I craved more.

Teaching became my second calling. At Tulane University and Loyola University New Orleans, I demystified finance for eager minds. I even delivered the weekly financial market report on WWL, igniting curiosity in CEOs’ eyes.

Five years ago, I traded the familiar for the unknown, moving to Denver—a lifestyle shift driven by my wife’s career aspirations. Consulting with “Mindful Finance”, I guaranteed profit and cash flow improvements through financial acumen training and accountability coaching for management teams. But my journey didn’t stop there.

I assumed the role of CFO/COO at Headstart, a British startup leveraging AI to revolutionize the hiring process. Bridgenet LLC became my next canvas, where I painted financial systems and strategic thinking.

Today, I stand at the crossroads of academia and practice. As a Startup Finance instructor at the University of Denver’s collaboration with the World Trade Center Denver’s Global Trade Accelerator’s Immigrant Program, I witness sparks of curiosity ignite. Simultaneously, I guide students through “Anderson Reports,” the capstone course in the Finance concentration at Regis University’s MBA program, working closely with the Innovation Center.

When I’m not immersed in finance, you’ll find me practicing Spanish, hiking rugged trails, or pedaling my bike—a perpetual seeker of knowledge and adventure.

LET’S EXPLORE THE NUMBERS THAT SHAPE OUR WORLD.
